Every student learns differently. Some students pick up concepts quickly, while others benefit from additional guidance, repetition, and encouragement. That's completely normal.
Band directors do an incredible job teaching entire ensembles, but with so many students and instruments to manage, it can be difficult to give every percussion student individualized attention every day. Private lessons provide an opportunity to slow down, ask questions, and focus on the specific skills each student needs most.
Lessons focus on:
• Reading rhythms and music notation
• Proper stick grip and technique
• Timing and counting skills
• Percussion fundamentals
• Drumset and concert percussion skills
• Building confidence and independence as a musician
My goal is not just to help students play the right notes. It's to help them feel prepared, confident, and successful when they walk into band class, rehearsals, performances, and auditions.
All lessons are taught online, allowing students to learn from home and fit music instruction into busy family schedules without adding another drive across town.
